The hall set for Christmas dinner

This one is the Christmas do.

We take a proper English country house for the weekend before Christmas. Defenders on the drive, log fires, a gun room, a hall built for a long table. By day we shoot. By night we dress up and sit down to five courses with the people who get it.

It is the last Concordia trip of the year and the one built purely to celebrate. Bring your dinner jacket.

The house

A manor, its grounds, and nothing but us in it.

A grand country house on the Shropshire and Cheshire borders, ours on exclusive use. Big fires, big rooms, a hall for the dinner party, and land to shoot over. The house is confirmed to members on booking. Photography here shows the standard we book to.

The shoot

A full day in the field.

Friday is the shoot. Kit-out and the safety brief in the lounge, then out on the drives with sloe gin between them. A long shooting lunch back at the house, then the last drives while the light holds. Guns, cartridges, instructors and the ground are all covered. Complete beginners are looked after, crack shots will be found out.

Winter is loved by some and endured by others. We are here to make you the former. Tweed, wellies and a good coat by day. Dinner jackets by night. The house does the rest.

Thursday to Sunday, the weekend before Christmas.

Arrival. The first feast.

Dress. Black tie or a dark dinner jacket every evening, no exceptions. Daytime is tweed, wellies and waterproofs. Dress smart, the house deserves it.
